GRATITUDE BLOOMING
Gratitude is for everyone - the practice of noticing with our hearts - is needed now more than ever. As a social emotion, gratitude invites us to come together as a community as well as to overcome the personal challenges we face.
At the heart of our practice is the Gratitude Blooming cards, a collection of 39 mindful reflections and gratitude practices inviting people to explore the beauty and wisdom of nature.
Combining poetic imagination, nature and social impact, Gratitude Blooming is a collaboration between an artist, a poet and a land steward, three Asian Americans who aim to create sacred spaces that inspire us to notice and name the emotions we hold deep inside and build a better relationship with them. Together, we believe we can better navigate our lives and collective governance with greater intention, compassion and imagination.
Background
Gratitude Blooming is a purpose-driven, women-founded business started by an artist and a former school teacher, which has grown from an art project to building a gratitude ecosystem of products, services and media.
Seven years ago, we began with a simple yet profound idea: to shift the minds and hearts of humanity by listening to nature. We created an artist-illustrated deck of self-reflection cards infused with beautiful plants and provocative questions. Gratitude Blooming’s card decks have reached thousands of people, creating a different kind of conversation and approach to gratitude that bridges self-care and caring for others.
Since 2020, in response to the pandemic, this effort has blossomed into a multifaceted project that includes leading hundreds of workshops, experimenting with NFTs, and launching a podcast (now ranked in the top 3 percent in the world and in the top 10 for Nature and Gratitude).

Gratitude Blooming x Window Seat - Music Albums
Window Seat is the ambient music project of queer Asian American composer and producer Ariel Loh. Known for his dramatic and dynamic film and TV scores ranging from horror to children’s programming, Loh wanted to “capture the beauty and stillness of observing and being in the present” with his new musical project.
Partnering with Gratitude Blooming, a top 10 Nature and Gratitude podcast, Loh found inspiration for his newest album The Garden of Healing from the brand’s beautifully illustrated card deck, hand-drawn by Arlene Kim Suda. The Gratitude Blooming card deck attempts to answer the question: Can we listen for clues in Nature? It features 39 hand-drawn plants, each associated with mindfulness prompts such as Harmony & Balance (geranium), Forgiveness (anemone), Growth (grapevine) and Beautiful Sadness (daffodil). A guidebook of affirmations allows the participant to read more deeply into each intention and when paired with Loh’s music adds an audio component allowing for deeper introspection and meditation.
The Garden of Healing is the first album of a four-part series stemming from this creative partnership, each album will explore 10 of the themes in the card deck. Rooted in the healing energy of the spring season and the awakening of nature, the themes explored on The Garden of Healing include: Forgiveness, Wholeness, Self Care, Hope, Sorrow, Prayer, Healing, Beautiful Sadness, Gentleness, and Patience. Utilizing piano, electronic instruments, and found sounds in his LA based studio, Loh contemplated and composed music that aligns with each theme.
The Garden of Healing was released on all music services on the 2023 Spring Equinox (March 20, 2023), The Garden of Joy was released on all music services on the 2023 Summer Solstice (June 21, 2023). Subsequent collections will be released on the Fall Equinox and Winter Solstice in 2023.
