Find your song in your balancing point
In the 100 day project, I made several drawings of geraniums. These plants will always remind me of my mom who is a master at propagating new geranium plants from cutting a branch off of an existing plant. She is always on the lookout for geraniums with different colored flowers so thanks to her, we had red and orange and pink and white ones growing in our yard.
The words harmony and balance in this drawing came from a version of this flower that I painted in color. In that painting the plant leaves were a warm (yellow) green and the background of the drawing was a cool (bluish) green. There was a harmony of colors that felt in balance.
And it made me wonder about why it is that we sense that things are in balance when they are in harmony - and on the other side, why things feel so unresolved when there is dissonance. It is almost like it is in our nature to resolve the things that feel out of balance. Like we intrinsically know what harmony feels like.
It makes me wonder if many of the big answers we seek in our lives are actually within us, within our nature, and so much of finding what we need is to notice how our own unique harmony needs to express itself so we can find our own balancing point.
